We are a culture that obsesses over impact, challenges, and drives what’s next to power infinite possibilities for our customers, colleagues and society at large.

About the Role:

The Senior Project Manager is a senior delivery role within the Delivery & Change Excellence function, responsible for leading complex, high-value projects with significant organisational impact. DCE's role is to ensure Wiley's ambitions actually land — and this role sits at the heart of that.

You will lead end-to-end delivery across strategic initiatives, working with senior stakeholders across Technology, Product, and Commercial functions. You'll operate in an environment that prizes speed, accountability, and agility — where outcomes matter more than process, and where AI-enabled ways of working are becoming the standard, not the exception.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring clear business cases, realistic plans, benefits validated, and changes embedded.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including PIDs, business cases, plans, and RAID logs; manage scope, timelines, budgets, and dependencies.
  • Surface risks early and make them visible — own issue resolution and escalation where required.
  • Engage and manage senior stakeholders across business and technology functions, providing clear, timely communication and reporting.
  • Lead project teams across Technology, Product, Content, and Commercial, providing direction, support, and performance oversight.
  • Contribute to portfolio-level visibility — ensuring decision-makers have the information they need, when they need it.
  • Actively adopt and champion AI-enabled tools and workflows within project delivery (including tools such as Matae and others in the DCE stack).
  • Contribute to DCE's operating model, standards, and capability development — coaching colleagues and sharing what works.

Required Qualifications

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP certification (or equivalent, e.g. APM PMQ).
  • Extensive experience of project management experience, including delivery of complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders and navigate ambiguity in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong experience managing scope, risk, budget, and dependencies across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Track record of delivering outcomes, not just managing process — able to evidence impact.
  • Comfortable working in environments undergoing significant change or transformation.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies and delivery frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in publishing, research, technology, or information services industries.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled delivery tools or an active interest in embedding AI into ways of working.
  • Experience contributing to PM standards, CoEs, or capability frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Clarity PPM, Jira, or similar enterprise tools.
  • Experience delivering projects involving external partnerships or vendor collaboration.
