About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated Coordinator to provide administrative, research, and project management support for the Publishing Development Social Sciences and Humanities team. You will assist in project management for the Director and Publishers as needed, including organizational tracking, research, bibliometrics, meeting planning, communications with colleagues, and formatting of final documents. Your work will support publishing development for a portfolio of Social Sciences and Humanities journals, including a selection of journals you will manage with support, allowing you to develop strong working relationships with external journal editors as you both assist and lead in reviewing performance and ensuring alignment on strategic goals. As part of a global team, you will work collaboratively with skilled colleagues across Wiley’s research business on day-to-day portfolio management as well as broader initiatives with a focus on identifying opportunities for journal development and strategic growth and satisfying day-to-day operational tasks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop excellent working relationships with external editors and editorial boards to build and maintain the journals’ reputation and quality while optimising operations for continued success.
  • Support Director and Publishers in communications with colleagues and managing the flow of information and deadlines amongst the Publishing Development team.
  • Gather background information and generate data-based reports as required by the Director and Publishers.
  • Support cross-team operational tasks that ensure journal systems are correct and up to date.
  • Facilitate meetings: schedule and invite participants; circulate advance information; circulate notes and action items post-meeting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education to university level.
  • An interest in publishing and some understanding of the industry.
  • A background in Social Sciences or Humanities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage deadlines of varying urgency; ability to work independently on long-term projects; proactive in requesting assistance, sharing ideas, and striving towards additional responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or first experience in publishing.

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
