This role supports our Head Chef in delivering honest food with provenance at the core, and offers a lifestyle far removed from urban market demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the culinary vision of the Head Chef in relation to the venue.
  • Deliver an interactive "chef's table" experience for guests by engaging with them at the point of dish finish and presentation, explaining each dish and answering questions.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to review guest preferences ahead of visits and create dishes that accommodate specific requests, allergies and dietary or faith requirements.
  • Discuss with guests on arrival all planned menus and adapt positively to any late changes.
  • Partner with the Head Chef in planning supplies, taking into account the remote nature of the venues.
  • Build strong relationships with local suppliers to access the highest quality local ingredients.
  • Move comfortably between busy and quiet periods, using quieter times for team development and new menu creation.
  • Supervise the Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff, ensuring a "one team" approach and collaborative guest experience.
  • Support other Wildland venues as required.
  • Embrace the ethos and values of Wildland and ensure direct reports do likewise.
  • Act as a custodian of our culture, engaging positively with all team members and demonstrating respect for their contributions.

Who You Are

You are a passionate chef with proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie, ideally within a private Chef environment or a fine‐dining "Chef's Table" setup. You are an excellent team player, a warm communicator comfortable with guest interaction, and adapted to the remote nature of WildLand Sutherland.
