An excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled florist to join our small gardening team at Aldourie Castle, Loch Ness as we continue to develop our exceptional Scottish garden designed by Tom Stuart-Smith. Our garden is part of a contemporary reimagining of a historic castle garden on a 500-acre estate on the banks of Loch Ness near Inverness.
The position will offer an opportunity to grow and provide arrangements for our properties. The successful candidate will also assist the garden team in general maintenance whenever possible. It is a great opportunity to develop your floristry and growing skills under the guidance of an experienced Lead Cut Flower Gardener.
Aldourie comprises of a castle garden and walled garden, which contain extensive naturalistic herbaceous plantings as well as vegetable and fruit areas. There are also glasshouses, an arboretum and parkland.
Who you are
You will be a creative and passionate florist with a strong understanding of plants and horticultural techniques. The role requires someone who is organised, methodical, adaptable, and committed to delivering work of the highest standard, with excellent communication skills. You should have professional experience in floristry, and ideally, experience in growing cut flowers and general gardening. Due to the location of the Castle, you must hold a current valid driving license and have your own transport.
