We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Casual Trading Assistant to support the effective operation of our charity’s retail and catering trading activities. This role plays a key part in maximising income through membership sign-ups, on-site admissions, and shop and cafe sales, helping to ensure funds are generated responsibly to support our charitable mission. You will provide hands-on operational, administrative, and analytical support to the trading team, contributing to positive visitor experiences, strong retail performance, and the sustainable growth of income across our sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors and provide a friendly, helpful experience
- Support membership sign-ups and renewals, explaining benefits clearly to visitors
- Process on-site admissions accurately and efficiently
- Assist with shop sales, including serving customers and promoting items
- Safely prepare food and drink for customers in the cafe
- Handle cash and card payments responsibly, following charity procedures
- Keep retail, cafe, and admissions areas tidy, well-stocked, and welcoming
- Support volunteers and work positively as part of the site team
- Answer visitor questions and share information about the charity’s work
- Follow health and safety, safeguarding, and operational policies
- Support the team with day-to-day tasks as needed.
This is a casual position where hours are offered on an ad-hoc basis. Candidates will need to be willing to work weekends.
