At WWT we believe the best way to inspire people to protect wetlands is to let people experience them up close. At Martin Mere we support over 500 acres of stunning habitats including wet grassland, reedbed and woodland! Our reserve volunteers are crucial to maintaining this and displaying it all to our visitors!

We are looking for committed Reserve Volunteers at Martin Mere site, to help with a variety of roles! We are currently looking for volunteers that would be available to help on Mondays and Fridays. Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You will get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

About You

This role will suit you if:

  • You enjoy working outdoors no matter the weather and getting involved in a variety of tasks.

These roles include:

  • Wildlife ID and survey work
  • Practical outdoor work (cutting trees, raking, mowing, planting)
  • Interacting with visitors to introduce our wonderful reserve
  • Taking care of our Longhorn Cattle
  • Getting things ready for visitors to enjoy

Don’t worry if you don’t yet have ID skills or practical reserve experience, this role is perfect for getting acquainted with those things and learning new skills! Please note you must be over 18 to apply for this role.
