The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Engaging visitors and communities with wetlands. We are looking for a confident, outgoing individual to assist with operating our Canoe Safari Trail. You will be engaging with our visitors to ensure they have an unforgettable experience whilst hiring a canoe on a self-paddled 1km trail through our nature reserve. A practical can-do attitude is highly sought after. The Canoe Safari is open in all weathers but we do provide a full uniform to ensure you are warm and dry despite the weather.

Your main duties will be to:

  • Greet visitors
  • Take payment for canoe and equipment hire
  • Provide a welcome talk and safety briefing
  • Assist visitors in and out of the canoes
  • Assist with some vegetation management along the trail
  • Perform any cleaning that is required

This is a term contract from 22nd March - 27th September 2026 working 12 hours per week - Saturday and Sunday.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a customer-focused visitor attraction or similar customer-focused operation, have the ability to engage with people of all ages and abilities, and provide safety briefings to small groups of visitors (training given). A can-do attitude is essential and a willingness to get involved in a variety of jobs. Canoe experience is not essential as full training will be given. Due to the nature of the position, candidates will need to be 18 or over.
