We’re looking for a passionate, creative and caring Nursery Chef to join our team in Murrayfield and take the lead on creating delicious, nutritious meals that children genuinely love.

What You’ll Be Creating

As our Nursery Chef, you’ll play an important role in daily life at Wildflower Murrayfield. You’ll be responsible for creating fresh, balanced and exciting meals and snacks that support the children’s development, wellbeing and energy throughout the day.

You’ll be:

• Creating delicious, nutritious and varied meals and snacks for our children and team
• Planning exciting menus using fresh, seasonal ingredients wherever possible
• Introducing children to different flavours, textures and ingredients
• Catering confidently for allergies, intolerances, cultural requirements and individual dietary needs
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, safety and allergen standards
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running beautifully
• Working closely with the nursery team to create relaxed and enjoyable mealtimes
• Supporting children to develop positive relationships with food
• Taking pride in presentation and making mealtimes something children look forward to
• Managing stock, ordering ingredients and keeping within agreed budgets
• Bringing your own ideas, creativity and personality into our kitchen

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You…

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys what they do and understands just how important food is in the early years.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience working as a chef, preferably within a nursery, school or childcare environment
• Relevant food hygiene and catering qualifications
• A strong understanding of nutrition and healthy eating for young children
• Confidence managing allergens and dietary requirements
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• A creative approach to menu planning and cooking
• A warm, positive and friendly personality
• The ability to work independently while being a brilliant part of the wider nursery team
• A genuine passion for creating food that children enjoy
