At Wildflower Shawlands, formerly Pied Piper Nursery, we're inviting an Early Years Apprentice to join our warm, supportive team and start a career that truly makes a difference.

You'll earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a busy, happy nursery while working towards a recognised Scottish Early Years qualification aligned with SSSC registration requirements.

This is an 18-month fixed-term apprenticeship, giving you the opportunity to build your skills, gain valuable experience and work towards becoming a qualified Early Years Practitioner. And if you're loving life at Wildflower and there's a suitable opportunity available at the end of your apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity to join us permanently and continue your Early Years career with us.

From day one, you'll be learning on the job, supported by experienced practitioners who want to see you succeed. This isn't just a role, it's a journey, with plenty of learning, development and proud moments along the way.

What You'll Be Doing

AKA: The Apprentice Journey & Fun Stuff

• Learning how play becomes powerful learning (and why mess is sometimes a very good thing!)




• Supporting children's development through stories, songs, sensory play, outdoor adventures and everyday routines




• Helping to create calm, caring spaces where children feel safe, confident and curious




• Being part of key moments — first steps, first friendships and first \"I did it!\" smiles




• Learning how to observe, support and celebrate children's progress




• Working towards a Scottish Early Years qualification, such as SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6 or above




• Building the skills, confidence and experience needed to become a qualified Early Years Practitioner




• Working alongside experienced practitioners and learning from the brilliant people around you

Some days will be busy. Some days will be magical. Some days will involve paint in places you didn't know paint could reach.

Every day will help you grow.
