Responsibilities
- Preparation of feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings and calculations; preparation of contract documents and specifications.
- Project planning, management and monitoring, and liaising with clients and contractors.
- A working knowledge of the DMRB, LTN1/20 and other current design standards is essential.
- Use of design software including Civils 3D and/or MX is desirable.
- Providing a consistent high level technical design service.
- Providing support, training and guidance to other staff.
- Effective client liaison and communication.
- Reporting to the Highways Director.
- Liaising with other discipline team leaders to ensure technical integration.
- Financial and commercial management.
Experience of working in a highway design office is essential.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Proven experience of working with Local Authorities.
- Experienced in active travel, local road project design.
- Capable of operating with minimal supervision.
- Seeking increasing level of responsibility.
