About Us
WildBounds is a premium retailer specialising in equipping adventurers with the best and coolest outdoor gear and apparel. We deliver exceptional kit from independent brands plus inspiration for adventure to our fast-growing audience and customer base. We are a team of outdoorsy folks who share a passion for adventures big and small, and for discovering the stories behind the brands, people and places that inspire us.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Online Merchandiser. Candidates will need to have excellent communication skills, as coordinating with suppliers and our in-house teams is central to the role. Organisational skills need to be of the highest standard, with an eye for the smallest of details. As well as being technically proficient in digital asset management, asset arrangement experience will be required from back office through to consumer presentation. Awareness of brands from our existing portfolio would be beneficial.
The successful applicant will be the bridge between our brand assets and the customer experience. Delivering a well-organised, high-quality library of brand and product imagery to support the teams will be the primary goal. However, you will use these assets for the day-to-day merchandising of our store, ensuring our "digital shelves" are always curated, searchable, and trading performance is monitored.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Asset Management
- Asset Ownership: Source product and lifestyle imagery directly from suppliers and brands
- Library Management: Upload and maintain our DAM platform with accurate, consistent metadata, ensuring the wider team can access and deploy visuals efficiently
- Brand Alignment: Ensure all digital assets meet our brand guidelines and standards before they go live
- Visual Merchandising: Strategically order products within collections and set up ranking logic to maximise sales
- Navigation & Discovery: Build and maintain category pages, filters, and facets to ensure a seamless customer journey
- Search Optimization: Manage on-site search functionality, including synonyms, redirects, and zero-results queries
- Stock Management: Proactively manage site visibility by suppressing out-of-stock discontinued lines and flagging slow-moving stock for promotional action
- Coordinating landing pages and product edits to support email and paid campaigns
- Implementing sale events, discount codes, and promotional banners
- Monitoring conversion rates, click-through rates, and revenue by category
- Using analytics to identify underperforming pages or products and act on findings
Requirements
Essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – confident reaching out to brands and suppliers and representing the business professionally
- Supremely organised with meticulous attention to detail, particularly when managing data, documents, and digital assets
- A proactive self-starter who can manage their own workload and priorities without close supervision
- A creative problem solver – resourceful and pragmatic when faced with challenges
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and platforms simultaneously
- A genuine interest in the outdoors and outdoor or lifestyle goods
- Meets the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
Desirable
- Experience in ecommerce merchandising, digital content, or a similar online retail role
- Familiarity with a DAM platform or experience managing large libraries of digital assets with metadata
- Experience working with a Shopify store or similar ecommerce platform
- Understanding of on-site search, category management, or product data
- Experience with Google Analytics or similar analytics tools
- Exposure to email or paid campaign coordination
What we’re offering
- Competitive salary of £28,000 – £34,000 depending on experience
- Performance-related bonus
- Annual performance and pay review
- Hybrid working arrangement (from 2nd month of employment)
- Pension scheme including 3% employer contribution
- 25 days paid holiday (plus the 8 UK bank holidays)
- 40% staff discount
- Exposure to the full lifecycle of brand distribution
- The chance to work with some of the most exciting names in outdoor and lifestyle gear
- A collaborative, close-knit team based in Bristol
- Real opportunity to grow and develop with the business as we scale
