CNC Grinding Machinist - Aerospace Manufacturing

Wild Recruitment is partnering with a leading Aerospace manufacturer seeking experienced CNC Grinding Machinists to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-precision components in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Contract: Until July 2027

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC grinding machines (surface and cylindrical).
  • Interpret and work from complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications.
  • Produce components to exact tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometres, comparators).
  • Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Adhere to all company health & safety and quality assurance procedures.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure parts meet design intent and customer requirements.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience operating CNC grinding machines in a precision engineering or aerospace environment.
  • Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing and machining best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
  • Experience working to AS9100 standards (preferred).
  • Skilled in using precision measuring equipment and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • High attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset.
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred).
