We are looking for a people leader with a strong technical background to join our client's Service Division as a Regional Operations Manager. This role is ideal for someone who has progressed through hands-on technical work in the field, for example as a technician or engineer, and has since gained experience leading and developing field-based teams. The service operation supports a wide variety of customers in the hospitality industry. Continuous improvement of their service offering is central to growth, making this a key leadership role within the organisation.
About the Role
Covering South London and the South East, the Regional Operations Manager will lead, coach and develop a regional team of Installation & Service Technicians with varied experience levels. Working alongside four other Regional Operations Managers and supporting customers across all market sectors, you will play a vital part in delivering operational excellence across a region. This role is highly people-focused, requiring strong leadership, organisation, and the ability to bring out the best in a remote, geographically spread team.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Taking ownership of service delivery targets and regional performance
- Providing constructive coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Giving timely feedback, both 1:1 and in group settings
- Supporting team members through challenges, development needs and changes in process
- Assessing technicians on technical ability, customer interaction and commercial awareness
- Ensuring effective daily debriefing and job follow-up
- Identifying training needs and ensuring all technicians have the tools, resources and skills required
- Contributing to workforce planning, grading evaluations and development plans
- Maintaining high standards of customer service and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills
- 3-4 years field service experience as a hands-on service technician
- Proven experience leading or supervising a team of field service technicians
- Ability to coach, manage performance and motivate individuals working independently
- Strong electrical and technical background
- Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting and repair skills
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Comfortable using mobile technology, apps and computer systems
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and help others do the same
This is a remote role with onsite visits required. Ideally you will be based in Kent, Surrey, Sussex or the surrounding area.
Hours & Benefits
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday some weekend work required
