Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC surface and cylindrical grinding machines
- Interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances and exact surface finishes
- Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, comparators, and other precision instruments
- Perform routine machine maintenance and tool cleaning
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation
- Adhere to Health & Safety and quality assurance protocols
- Collaborate with QA and Manufacturing Engineering teams to meet design and customer standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with CNC grinding in aerospace or precision engineering
- Strong knowledge of geometric tolerancing, machining principles, and CNC programming
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred)
- Skilled in using micrometers, verniers, and gauges
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Self-motivated and adaptable; able to work independently or as part of a team
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred)
