We’re representing a fast‑growing organisation seeking a hands‑on Commercial Accountant with strong financial instincts and real commercial drive. This role is ideal for someone who has mastered core finance, understands how value is created operationally, and is ready to step into broader business leadership. You’ll take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, controls, and commercial insight across multiple divisions, while also supporting investment decisions, acquisitions, pricing, and performance improvement. This is a high‑visibility role with genuine influence and the opportunity to shape growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day finance operations and deliver accurate month‑end and year‑end reporting.
- Produce detailed P&L, balance sheet and cashflow analysis with commercial commentary.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and performance tracking.
- Strengthen controls, governance and working capital management.
- Support cashflow forecasting, including rolling 13‑week models.
- Partner with operational and sales teams to analyse revenue, costs and margin opportunities.
- Support property‑related accounting (leases, business rates, landlord analysis).
- Contribute to financial modelling for investments and acquisitions.
- Drive improvements in systems, automation and reporting (NetSuite desirable).
- Prepare audit materials and liaise with external advisors.
Candidate Profile
- ACCA/ACA qualified or finalist.
- Strong technical accounting and financial control background.
- Commercial experience in a fast‑paced SME or multi‑site environment.
- Experience managing or developing a small finance team.
- Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling skills.
- Interest in process improvement and AI‑enabled tools.
- Skilled in cashflow forecasting, budgeting and management reporting.
- Confident communicator able to influence non‑financial stakeholders.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems (advantageous).
