Key Responsibilities – CNC grinding machinist

  • Set up and operate CNC surface and cylindrical grinding machines
  • Interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications
  • Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances and exact surface finishes
  • Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, comparators, and other precision instruments
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and tool cleaning
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and quality assurance protocols
  • Collaborate with QA and Manufacturing Engineering teams to meet design and customer standards

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with CNC grinding in aerospace or precision engineering
  • Strong knowledge of geometric tolerancing, machining principles, and CNC programming
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred)
  • Skilled in using micrometers, verniers, and gauges
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Self-motivated and adaptable; able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred)
