Key Responsibilities
- Saw Machine
- Measuring, cutting, and preparing natural and engineered wood for saw machinery operations.
- Operating Homag SAW to precise specifications from technical drawings.
- Operating Biesse Stream A Edge Banding Machine, setting up and operating according to specifications.
- Properly feeding wood panels and adjusting settings for quality edge banding.
- Inspecting finished products for defects and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Achieving daily production targets.
- Operating a counterbalance forklift to move, position, and manage oversized and heavy wood panels throughout the factory.
- Manoeuvring the forklift confidently and safely within tight spaces and a busy factory environment.
- Handling large-format panels with care and precision to avoid damage to materials and equipment.
- Supporting the wider team with material handling and stock movement as required.
Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential.
- Proven experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including handling oversized loads and working in confined or tight spaces.
- Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
- Previous experience operating machinery and hand power tools.
- High attention to detail and level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with a can-do attitude and focus on meeting deadlines and targets.
- Numeracy and literacy with the ability to read paperwork and understand measurements.
- Excellent attendance and timekeeping.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
Monday - Thursday 07:30 to 04:30, Friday 07:30 to 12:30. Temp to Perm Contract.
