We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our client, based in Waterlooville, Portsmouth office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a varied caseload of clients.
- Processing invoices, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Supporting the wider team with ad-hoc accounting tasks.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced accountancy practice with multiple clients.
- Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and DEXT.
- Strong understanding and practical application of the double-entry bookkeeping system.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Desirable
- AAT qualification or equivalent (or working towards).
- Knowledge of payroll processing.
