Salary: £12.55 – £14.41 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 6:00pm
About the Role
Our Outstanding Forest Nursery in Peacehaven is looking for an experienced and passionate Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly team as a Room Lead.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating a fun, supportive and engaging environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.
You will lead a small team within your room and help provide high-quality care and learning for children aged 3 months to 5 years, supporting their emotional, social and physical development.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a small team within your room.

Provide high-quality care and education for all children.

Support children's learning and development through their interests and individual needs.

Complete observations and contribute to children's learning journeys.

Follow the EYFS Framework and Birth to 5 Matters guidance.

Support children's independence, particularly within the preschool age group.

Provide personal care, including nappy changing, toileting and feeding.

Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and children's welfare.

Assist with risk assessments and relevant nursery paperwork.

Administer first aid when appropriately trained.

Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

Take part in ongoing training and professional development.
About You
Essential:

Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.

Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.

Reliable, patient and positive approach.

Genuine passion for working with children.

Flexible and willing to support the wider nursery team.

Able to provide two verifiable references.
Desirable:

Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Current DBS.
-
Knowledge of the EYFS Framework.

Makaton knowledge or experience.

Forest School experience.

An interest in sustainability and the environment.
