Director - Head of Major Infrastructure Projects
Location: Wimborne, Dorset or Woking, Surrey | Hybrid/remote considered
Salary: Around £100,000, depending on experience

Wild Capital is expanding into a major new market opportunity and is seeking an experienced, commercially driven Director of Infrastructure Solutions to lead our presence in the nationally significant infrastructure sector. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who understands how major infrastructure projects are planned, financed, procured, and delivered, and who can translate Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) into compelling commercial solutions for clients.
You will be responsible for building relationships at senior level, securing new business, and negotiating complex BNG packages for major infrastructure clients across transport, energy, water, utilities, and related sectors. Working closely with our ecology, land, legal, and leadership teams, you will help shape offers that are commercially robust, deliverable, and aligned with client requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, target, and win new business opportunities within the NSIP and major infrastructure market.
- Build and maintain senior relationships with infrastructure promoters, Tier 1 contractors, DCO applicants, and their advisers.
- Act as Wild Capital’s primary contact for the infrastructure sector, representing the business at client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Winning frameworks and tenders for work relating to major infrastructure projects
- Lead commercial negotiations on BNG packages, pricing strategies, deal structure, and contract terms.
- Work with internal ecology, land, and legal specialists to develop strong, deliverable proposals.
- Monitor the evolving NSIP, planning, and BNG landscape, feeding insight into business strategy.
About you
We are looking for someone with significant experience in or alongside major infrastructure projects and a strong track record in senior business development and relationship management. You will be confident dealing with board-level stakeholders, commercially astute, and comfortable building a new area of business with support from a high-performing team.
- Familiarity with DCOs and the Planning Inspectorate process.
- Familiarity with the planning system and development process
- Strong experience across major infrastructure sectors such as roads, rail, energy, water, or utilities.
- Proven success in senior-level B2B business development and client relationship management.
- Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and structuring deals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a growth environment.
