Wild Capital is looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to help scale its commercial activity across property development, planning, land, infrastructure, and environmental compliance.
This is a new business and account growth role for someone who enjoys opening doors, building relationships, understanding complex client needs, and converting opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships.
The business operates in a highly active, regulation-led market where developers and landowners increasingly need practical commercial solutions to unlock planning, manage environmental obligations, and deliver projects with confidence.
You do not need to be an environmental markets expert from day one. What matters most is strong B2B sales ability, commercial curiosity, confidence with senior stakeholders, and the drive to master a technical but rapidly growing sector.
What you'll be doing
You will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing commercial opportunities across the property, planning, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.
Your role will include:
- Building a strong pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, inbound follow-up, and market intelligence
- Speaking with developers, land agents, planning consultants, local authorities, and senior commercial decision-makers
- Understanding client requirements around planning, environmental compliance, pricing, timing, and supply
- Converting opportunities into signed deals
- Growing accounts after the first transaction and identifying repeat business opportunities
- Tracking planning pipelines, competitor activity, regulatory change, and market demand
- Working closely with internal technical, finance, planning, and delivery teams to structure commercially viable solutions
- Acting as the voice of the customer as the business continues to grow
Who we're looking for
We are looking for someone hungry, intelligent, commercially fluent, and confident speaking to senior buyers.
You will likely have:
- 3-5 years' experience in B2B sales, business development, or commercial account growth
- A track record of hitting targets in long, complex, consultative sales cycles
- Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders, including directors, land teams, planning leads, consultants, and finance teams
- Strong new business instincts and the ability to generate your own pipeline
- A good commercial understanding of pricing, terms, contracts, and client decision-making
- The ability to absorb a technical market quickly and explain it clearly to clients
- A self-starting, entrepreneurial approach
Useful experience
Experience in any of the following would be helpful, but is not essential:
- Housebuilders or land promotion
- Planning, ecology, or environmental consultancy
- Environmental markets or natural capital
- Structured, financial, or long-term commercial products
- Selling into developers, land agents, local authorities, or infrastructure clients
Package
- Very strong earning potential
- Uncapped commission structure
- Discretionary bonus
- Hybrid working
- Strong career progression in a fast-scaling market
- Opportunity to join an early-stage commercial team in a high-growth sector
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to join a business operating at the centre of a young, fast-moving, regulation-led market.
The successful candidate will have the chance to build meaningful client relationships, help shape the commercial playbook, and grow into a more senior role as the business scales.
