Are you an experienced operations professional with a passion for delivering exceptional events? Our client is seeking an experienced Event Space Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy and vibrant event venue in the heart of SE1. This is a part-time temporary position, predominantly working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, although additional hours may be requested depending on event schedules and business needs. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can lead teams effectively, and ensures every event is delivered seamlessly from setup through to completion.
The Role
As the Event Space Operations Manager, you will take ownership of venue operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, presentation, health and safety, and event delivery. Working closely with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams, you will be responsible for ensuring all events run smoothly while maintaining an outstanding guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the event space and venue facilities
- Manage event set-ups, breakdowns, and operational delivery
- Lead and supervise front-of-house, facilities, and event support teams
- Act as the primary operational contact during live events
- Ensure health and safety, compliance, and venue standards are consistently maintained
- Coordinate with external suppliers, contractors, and vendors
- Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally
- Monitor venue presentation, cleanliness, and equipment functionality
- Support client site visits and event planning meetings
- Manage staffing schedules and resource allocation to meet event requirements
- Deliver outstanding customer service to clients, guests, and stakeholders
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience managing operations within an events venue, conference centre, hospitality venue, flexible workspace, or similar environment
- Strong understanding of event logistics and operational planning
- Proven ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of health and safety and venue compliance requirements
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with willingness to work occasional evenings when required
