Salary: ÂŁ34,100
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time
Directly Responsible to: Head of Music for Life and Manager of Learning & Participation
Responsible to: General Manager and Head of Personnel

JOB PURPOSE
To develop and manage ticketed Learning events at Wigmore Hall for families and schools; and to supervise the Learning &Â Participation Assistant in the efficient running of the administrative aspects of the Learning programme, working as part of a collaborative and supportive team in the Learning department.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme & Event Management:
- Taking responsibility for the development and management of a programme of events for families at Wigmore Hall, including:
- British Sign Language-interpreted Family and Schools Concerts (alongside the Schools Programme Manager)
- Chamber Tots
- For Crying Out Loud!
- Family Workshops
- Taking the lead on scheduling of Learning events at Wigmore Hall, liaising with Office of the Director and Learning department colleagues
- Liaising with colleagues at Wigmore Hall to manage operations and logistics for ticketed families and schools events at Wigmore Hall
- Liaising with and managing freelance artists, workshop leaders and other freelance staff working on relevant events at Wigmore Hall
- Ensuring efficient and friendly communication with participants and audiences as appropriate
- Ensuring relevant recordings and photography are in place, preparing footage and images for dissemination as appropriate
- Managing events on the day as required
Training and Development:
- Working with relevant artists to devise and co-ordinate programme development days and musician team development opportunities as part of the families programme
- Supervising the Learning and Participation Assistant in their role, delegating to them as appropriate (for example on duties related to operations, administration and event management), and supporting their development and training (alongside the Manager of Learning &Â Participation)
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Ensuring effective and collaborative evaluation of relevant events at Wigmore Hall, which incorporates the perspectives of participants, partners and musicians, and which feeds into future development of activity
- Ensuring all relevant events, and their associated data, are recorded and monitored appropriately
Access and Inclusion:
- Liaising with colleagues across the organisation to develop Wigmore Hall’s practices in ensuring we are an accessible venue with a warm welcome for families, including Managing the £1 ticket scheme for families facing financial barriers to music making
- Managing and promoting British Sign Language interpretation of family and schools concerts
- Working in collaboration with Programme Manager (Community Partnerships) to offer free tickets to Family events for families we are working with in community settings
- Participating in and contributing to Wigmore Hall’s Access Working Group meetings as appropriate
- Working in line with Wigmore Hall’s Inclusivity Pledge, ensuring all relevant activity is inclusive and anti-discriminatory
Safeguarding:
- Ensuring all relevant activity is led in line with Wigmore Hall Learning’s safeguarding policies, including:
- Preparing risk assessments for activity
- Ensuring freelance artists and front of house staff have been appropriately briefed on Wigmore Hall’s safeguarding policies as well as the safeguarding policies of partner organisations where appropriate
- Working within Wigmore Hall’s safeguarding policies at all times, committing to your own professional development in safeguarding
Fundraising:
- Providing written content on relevant events for applications to trusts, foundations and individual donors where appropriate
- Supporting the Development Manager, Learning and Participation with donor relations, meeting and liaising with funders where appropriate
Budgeting, Finance and Contracts:
- Setting ticketed events for families and schools at Wigmore Hall budgets with the Heads of the Learning and Participation, and taking responsibility for the management of those budgets, ensuring they are kept up-to-date and in line with projections
- Working with the Finance department and colleagues in the Learning department to ensure that invoices and other income and expenditure is processed and monitored efficiently
- Ensuring artist contracts are processed in a timely manner
Digital, Marketing, Communication and Advocacy:
- Ensuring relevant areas of the Wigmore Hall website are kept accurate, with up-to-date copy, images and video, as well as participant quotes as appropriate, in line with Wigmore Hall’s safeguarding and privacy policies
- Providing relevant copy and images for publicity material, promotional emails and social media, working with the Marketing department to ensure healthy ticket sales and engaging, regularly updated social media content
- Ensuring all relevant Learning events appear in Wigmore Hall series brochures, ensuring associated copy and images are provided in a timely manner
- Liaising with Marketing and Development departments to raise awareness of relevant events with Wigmore Hall staff, audiences, donors and general public
General:
- Working collaboratively with colleagues in the Learning department to co-create a programme which embodies Wigmore Hall Learning’s guiding values and principles
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date individual and organisational records related to ticketed family and schools events at Wigmore Hall
- Committing to ongoing professional development as part of a wider culture of reflective practice, including through individual training, team training and organisational training (previous topics have included safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, anti-racist practice, mental health and youth voice)
- Carrying out any other associated duties that may be reasonably required by the Learning and Participation team from time to time
PERSON SPECIFICATION

- Experience of coordinating or managing events, with strong project management, organisational and administration skills
- An interest in and/or experience of working in participatory music making Shared passion for Wigmore Hall Learning’s values and a strong sense of your own motivations and values
- Clear communication skills and enjoys open collaboration with team members
- A willingness to learn from others, to share your perspective with others, and to engage in reflective practice within a supportive environment

- Experience of managing or co-ordinating finances and budgets
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook or equivalent applications
