Melbury Lodge is our acute adult mental health inpatient unit in Winchester where our multidisciplinary team offer high quality recovery focussed care to adults with a range of mental health disorders. Melbury Lodge has 25 beds across 1 male and 1 female ward.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a fitness instructor to join the team. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, resourceful, and resilient individual who is committed to providing support and assistance to patients in their recovery whilst an inpatient.
As a fitness instructor, you will be part of the OT team supporting the team by offering a variety of fitness activities to the patients, under the guidance and support of the Occupational Therapists. The role will involve running a mixture of group and 1 to 1 sessions. This post is part time 18.75 hours a week. The hours will include working some weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
The successful post holder will need excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with staff, service users and all stakeholders. The ability to prioritise changing work demands is essential. The post holder will co-ordinate and conduct exercise programmes including 1 to 1 and group sessions for service users.
