Alton Community Hospital are currently looking to recruit a new Band 5 Clinical Staff Nurse to provide high quality, person centred care within clinic settings, working autonomously and within professional guidelines.

The postholder will manage a caseload of patients requiring treatments such as intravenous therapy, urinary and suprapubic catheter care, and leg ulcer management. They will undertake holistic assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, and ensure accurate, safe record keeping in line with Trust and professional standards.

The nurse will demonstrate compassion, effective communication, competence and professional courage while delivering safe, evidence based clinical care. They will escalate concerns appropriately to senior staff, GPs or consultants, manage safeguarding risks, and contribute to medicines management to ensure safety and efficacy.

The role includes supporting multidisciplinary working, maintaining constructive relationships, promoting a culture of patient wellness, and acting as a role model for person centred practice. The postholder will manage their own workload, contribute to team initiatives, support audit and quality improvement, and deputise for the Clinical Sister when required.

They will also participate in training, appraisal and reflective practice, maintaining up to date clinical knowledge and skills to support excellent patient outcomes and continuous professional development.
