We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated Assistant Practitioner to join our Lymington Stroke Therapy Team. You will support the multidisciplinary team to deliver a high quality and efficient service to stroke patients across the New Forest.
The role involves completing specified assessments and treatment programmes, working with patients in the community on a one-to-one or group basis to support rehabilitation exercises and functional activities, and participating in routine Stroke Reviews. The post has a nursing focus and involves close working with the CST Nurse, as well as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and other team members.
Applicants should have experience as a carer or therapy assistant, with some knowledge of neurology relating to stroke. The successful candidate will complete stroke specific competencies and receive relevant training, while participating in supervision, service development, the IST programme and a weekend rota supporting our 7-day service.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work are essential.
