An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right individual to join our team of specialised clinicians, technicians and administrators and undertake an apprenticeship to become an Orthotic and Prosthetic technician. The apprenticeship will involve 1 day per week study with Derby University for 18 months, leading to a Level 3 qualification and a permanent post at Band 4 in our technical team.

The remaining 4 days you will work with our senior technicians to learn how to manufacture orthoses and prostheses for people of all ages where the item you make can improve function and mobility, reduce pain and enhance quality of life.

Please note you will be paid as a band 3 annex 30 during this apprenticeship. We have the full range of manufacturing facilities on site, including 2 workshops and facilities for thermoplastic draping and acrylic resin carbon fibre laminations. The building also includes clinical space, a gym, casting and plaster rooms and state of the art storage for a wide range of prosthetic and orthotic components.

We are a small specialised multidisciplinary team with plenty of opportunity to extend your skills and knowledge beyond the apprenticeship into more senior roles.
