We are looking for enthusiastic Geriatricians with an interest in community working and transformation to join Hampshire and IOW healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting time for this newly formed Trust as we redevelop our community services to match the needs of an ageing population and with the goal to move care closer to where our populations need it.
There are opportunities across the Hampshire & IOW geographies: with vacancies in the Portsmouth and South East Division and the Isle of Wight. These are ideal posts for geriatricians who enjoy being hands on and working closely with colleagues in primary, secondary and community care.
The job will be based from one of our community hubs; with time supporting inpatient wards, community assessment units, virtual wards and neighbourhood MDTs. There will be opportunities for additional SPA to be used towards developing the community offer or enhancing training and education opportunities.
Geriatricians are arguably the specialty most aligned with the future NHS model. And the future NHS model is community centred. We want to create a well-supported peer group of Geriatricians who will help us define the model, shape governance, set clinical standards and build the culture for innovative multidisciplinary working that happens outside hospital walls.
