We are looking for a passionate and innovative Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in working in adult mental health to join a supportive and forward-thinking team. The post is based at Elmleigh (Havant). This unit has a total of 33 beds, and it is divided into two ward areas with the addition of an urgent care zone which facilitates a place of safety for patients detained under section 135/136.
Elmleigh is a 34 bedded adult acute mental health hospital and is split into two single sex bays. The female ward (Ruby Ward) has 16 beds, and the male ward (Sapphire Ward) has 17 beds. In addition to these acute wards, Elmleigh also holds a place of safety in our urgent care zone which facilitates a place of safety for patients detained under section 135/136.
Responsibilities:
- You will work collaboratively with service users employing a range of OT assessments and interventions to support recovery and will have the opportunity to develop skills in delivering these.
- You will supervise junior occupational therapy staff, AHP support workers, activity coordinators and support students on practice placement.
Qualifications and Development:
- Ideally, you will have experience of working within mental health services and this role would suit someone who is able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- You will be encouraged and supported in your development through a comprehensive induction, regular supervision from a senior OT and CPD.
