Hampshire and Isle of Wight Young Person Early Detection Service (HYPED) requires a psychologist/CBT therapist to undertake assessments including the CAARMS, psychological assessment and formulation, deliver CBT for mood disorders, trauma and unusual experiences, provide Family Interventions, and receive training on the CAARMS tool, Family Interventions and other relevant areas. The role includes supervision of a Clinical Associate Psychologist and, possibly, trainee CBT therapists or trainee clinical psychologists. The post-holder is expected to promote destigmatising information about psychosis, increase accessibility of mental health services and engage in audit, evaluation, research and co‑produced service development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessments, formulation and consultation with patients and families.
  • Deliver CBT and Family Interventions to individuals with an At‑Risk Mental State (ARMS).
  • Work within the ARMS pathway of the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service, liaising with EIP colleagues when a first episode of psychosis is suspected.
  • Administer CAARMS and supervise training in the tool.
  • Supervise and line‑manage a Clinical Associate Psychologist.
  • Provide clinical advice, supervision, teaching, support and communication.
  • Demonstrate a respectful, co‑production‑focused attitude and adhere to the trust values of compassion, accountability, respect and excellence.
  • Promote destigmatising information about psychosis and enhance accessibility of mental health services.
  • Engage in audit, evaluation, research and co‑produced service development.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology or equivalent.
  • Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Current UK professional registration.
