The role involves working with service users of Older People's Mental Health (OPMH) community mental health team (CMHT) in Basingstoke, providing psychological assessments and therapy. This will include working with functional/mental health and organic presentations including neuropsychological assessments.

This includes work with wider team colleagues, carers and families and collaboration with appropriate community services and voluntary sector organisations. It will require you to work as an autonomous, independent practitioner responsible for own work and intervention and for the interpretation of agreed guidelines and policies in providing a highly specialist Psychological Therapies Service.

You will also undertake complex assessments and consultancy, providing expert advice to Psychological Therapies Services colleagues and the wider clinical multi-professional team. You will provide specialist treatment for complex cases and plan and prioritise own clinical workload.

There will be opportunities to propose and influence change to policy or service development within the area psychological service and CMHT. You will provide specialist supervision for trainee psychologists and CAPs and psychological guidance and supervision for multi-professional clinical colleagues.

We support undertaking research and development and develop and encourage a research culture within the wider clinical team, including utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
