You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial clients, while simultaneously managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications. Your day-to-day activities will involve site assessments, system design and optimization, team coordination, client liaison, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain project momentum and resolve technical issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance planning and troubleshoot system faults to minimize downtime
  • Prepare technical documentation, system drawings, and project reports for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure all work adheres to Building Regulations, Health & Safety standards, and environmental guidelines
  • Liaise with clients to understand evolving needs and provide technical advice and recommendations
  • Monitor system performance post-installation and implement improvements as needed

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who combine strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems with proven project management experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering background, demonstrating both the ability to solve complex technical problems and the leadership skills to guide teams and manage stakeholder expectations. You should be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you balance multiple priorities. We value professionals who communicate clearly, take ownership of outcomes, and continuously seek to improve processes and systems.

Experience & Expertise Required:

  • Qualified engineer with formal qualifications in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (HND/HNC or degree level)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in air conditioning system design, installation, or maintenance
  • Proven project management experience, ideally with responsibility for budgets and timelines
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, heat exchangers, and control systems
  • Familiarity with Building Regulations, F-Gas Regulations, and relevant safety standards
  • Proficiency with CAD software and project management tools
  • Experience in commercial or industrial HVAC applications

Qualities & Work Approach:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems
  • Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities
  • Clear communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Organized and methodical approach to planning and execution
  • Proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous professional development
  • Reliability and integrity in managing client relationships and project commitments
  • Flexibility and adaptability when responding to changing project requirements

Role Impact & Success:

This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the comfort, efficiency, and operational success of major commercial and industrial facilities across the Hull region.
