Maths can shape a student’s next step.

We’re looking for a part-time Maths Lecturer who can make the subject clear, relevant and achievable for learners working across Levels 1 to 3.

You’ll plan and deliver well-structured lessons, assess progress and adapt your teaching so every student can move forward.

That might mean rebuilding confidence for someone who has struggled with maths or stretching a learner who is ready for more.

In every case, the goal is meaningful progress.

You’ll bring strong subject knowledge, clear communication and a genuine belief in what students can achieve.

You may already be teaching in further education, secondary education or adult learning.

You could also be a maths graduate or experienced professional ready to move into teaching.

A teaching qualification is welcome but isn’t essential. We’ll support the right person to work towards one.

Alongside teaching, you’ll give students clear feedback, monitor their progress and attendance, contribute to course development and work with colleagues to create a consistent and inclusive learning experience.

This is a permanent, part-time role based at Wigan & Leigh College. The advertised salary is the full-time equivalent and will be pro-rated according to the contracted hours.

Eligible early-career FE maths teachers may also qualify for a government retention payment, subject to the scheme rules in force.

Bring your subject knowledge. We’ll help you turn it into impact.
