Salary: Grade 5, £26,824 - £29,540 per annum. £13.90 - £15.31 per hour.

37 hours per week.

Your role:

  • You will play a key part in driving the performance of the Building Repairs & Maintenance in-house delivery and project works teams.
  • You will work closely with a supervisor and with other work planners as an effective team, ensuring colleagues are supported and absence covered.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that works are scheduled, planned and allocated in a way that optimises the productivity of operatives and ensures timely completion.
  • You will also be responsible for providing accurate management information and data for appropriate claiming of work costs.

About you:

  • You will have experience of working in a Building / Construction industry or related field of activity, especially in relation to local authority, schools and social housing property repairs and maintenance.
  • You will exhibit the Team Wigan Behaviours on a daily basis, maintaining effective working relationships, whilst demonstrating how you positively engage with managers/staff at all levels of the organisation, colleagues, other partners and customers.
  • You will be enthusiastic for the role, be willing to suggest and try new approaches and be keen to contribute and make a difference.
  • You will also require a good understanding of the value and use of new technology to improve and modernise working processes.
  • You will have the competency in utilising a number of databases and Microsoft applications daily.
