Salary: Grade 5, £26,824 - £29,540 per annum. £13.90 - £15.31 per hour, 37 hours per week.

Your role:

  • An exciting new opportunity is around the corner with the launch of a brand-new Café within Robin Park Leisure Centre working in our events & hospitality team.
  • You will be working in a busy kitchen with the responsibility for the overall catering operation including the preparation and service of high-quality nutritional meals for all our visitors, staff and our events programme.
  • You will plan stock and ordering requirements in line with pre-determined menus and budgets.
  • You will participate in and oversee that the cleaning duties are carried out in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures in the kitchen.
  • You will have responsibility for cash reconciliation where appropriate which will include banking and handling of money.

  • Produce & evidence all relevant experience of working in a busy kitchen setting.
  • To be motivated and show leadership skills whilst working in a busy and fast-paced environment.
  • You will have good customer care principles and demonstrate this daily; it is also essential that you are able to deal with challenging situations in a professional manner.
  • You will need to show that you are adaptable, flexible & versatile in your approach to managing the kitchen.
  • Demonstrate your passion for food by delivering a nutritional balanced menu for our customers.

You will be joining our vibrant & busy Events & Hospitality Team and we are responsible for delivering events within our Leisure Centres, Corporate Events within the Borough of Wigan & commercial revenue. You will be involved in the opening & running of our brand-new café which will open early this year.

You’ll be given a full induction which includes food safety and health and safety, and we’ll give you the opportunity to learn and develop within the service.

If you are selected for an interview, you will be given a cooking task as well as an interview and all equipment, food & beverage will be supplied. If you have your own chef whites/black please bring them but if not we will supply PPE for you.
