Responsibilities

As a driver/technician you will be part of the team delivering, fitting and collecting equipment across the borough. The role also requires you to work as part of the decontamination unit with cleaning of equipment and input of data relating to equipment. The Integrated Community Equipment Stores is part of the Early Intervention Service assisting people to live independently within their own homes. Working evenings and weekends within this role you will improve the quality of vulnerable people’s lives in the Wigan Borough.

These posts will support the existing team to ensure demands are met to support hospital discharges in a timely manner. ICES delivers equipment across the Wigan Borough to allow people to live independently within their own homes. We require positive individuals working across 7 days a week, delivering, fitting and collecting equipment around Wigan providing a vital service to residents. The Service also provides the hospital with support delivering equipment to aid hospital discharge. Here at Wigan, we are proud to support flexible working patterns, when the service can accommodate this. We also take a blended approach to where we work, depending on the work we do. This may include working from home, the office, or the community.
