Your role:

As a Business Support Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive business support across the Property Maintenance Service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Complaint Handling: Acting as the first point of contact for customer complaints and councillor enquiries, providing clear and timely responses within agreed timeframes.
  • Financial Processing: Managing the receipt and processing of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial procedures.
  • Contractor Claims Verification: Reviewing and validating contractor claims prior to charging clients, safeguarding against errors and ensuring accountability.

About you:

You will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team, while following established procedures with accuracy. You should have the ability to analyse and interpret information, work flexibly to meet service demands, and operate both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. The role requires someone who can work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and meet strict deadlines. A keen eye for detail and confidence in producing, collating, and analysing data is vital, including preparing financial and performance reports for presentation. You must be competent in using multiple databases and Microsoft applications, highly organised, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with a logical, problem-solving approach. Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders are crucial. You will liaise with a range of individuals, including operatives, managers, and residents, so excellent customer care and interpersonal skills are required. Finally, a good understanding of health and safety, risk assessments, and COSHH legislation relevant to the work undertaken is essential.
