Your role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking, award winning finance team. You will be a key individual, leading a small team managing the day to day treasury management activity ensuring we prioritise security and liquidity. You will have strategic oversight of treasury management, including our cashflow forecasting, our investing and borrowing strategies, setting the annual policy and reporting performance to Cabinet. You will also support the Banking Team in the provision of a wide range of services including the allocation of income received, oversight of control account reconciliations and the effective running of the Council\’s BACS Bureau.
About you:
You will have either a CCAB qualification or be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge gained through experience. You will have a keen eye for detail, an understanding of local authority treasury management policies and procedures, and a passion for understanding the economic environment in which we operate. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to manage the Council\’s relationship with brokers, consultants and other staff across the Council. You will be a team player that can display the Team Wigan Behaviours – positive, accountable and courageous.
