Your role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, empathetic, and caring officer to fulfill the role of a resettlement support worker within our boroughwide resettlement team on a 2-year temporary contract.
The role involves supporting and managing the risks associated with cultural differences and political attitudes that impact engagement with this cohort.
Our resettlement support workers facilitate the smooth transition of non-UK nationals settling in the borough.
You will manage a caseload of non-UK nationals, providing advice, information, and guidance on accessing services and supporting their integration into the community. You will collaborate with other statutory and voluntary sector services, including local businesses, and work closely with council and partnership teams.
About you
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of UK Government\’s asylum processes, ARAP (Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy), Homes for Ukraine, and other routes for non-UK nationals. Understanding of key services for clients\’ successful integration is essential.
You should be motivated, enthusiastic, with strong communication skills, and able to demonstrate compassion and empathy. Knowledge of developing sustainable move-on options and safeguarding issues is important. Experience working with vulnerable people and partnership working is required.
