Based at The Turnpike Gallery, this role forms part of a small team acting as the first point of contact for visitors. You will provide a welcoming and knowledgeable customer experience within a visual arts setting, supporting audiences to engage with exhibitions, activities and our wider events programme. With strong awareness of cultural opportunities in the borough, you will offer clear advice and respond to enquiries.

The role also includes a range of administrative tasks, such as responding to correspondence, answering calls and supporting the Culture Team in the day-to-day operations of a busy public art gallery. You will be self-motivated, adaptable and enthusiastic, with a strong interest in contemporary art and the wider cultural sector, as well as an understanding of public art galleries. You will thrive as part of a busy team while also working confidently on your own initiative.

With excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport and trust, you will be an effective and assured communicator. You will be capable of inputting and retrieving data from digital systems, using social media to promote events, and completing a variety of administrative tasks. You must also be able to work flexibly, including on Saturdays and occasional evenings.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team working within creative visual arts and wider cultural services. You will collaborate with artists, partners and volunteers to ensure communities can access diverse cultural and artistic experiences.
