Overview

You will be part of the team supporting Residents with dementia, working in a busy residential home in the heart of Leigh which supports people with dementia. You will provide stimulation and interaction to residents as identified in the care plans by having asset-based conversations to develop meaningful activity plans based on the wishes, choices and past memories and history.

Responsibilities

  • Promote activities that encourage empowerment, independence and choice as identified in best practice for residents with dementia with complex care needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Develop meaningful activity plans through asset-based conversations aligned with care plans and residents\\\’ history, preferences and memories.
  • Support residents to engage in stimulating activities and social interactions.
  • Contribute to an environment that supports dignity, respect and wellbeing for residents with dementia.

Requirements

  • Be flexible to the needs of the service and able to work on a rota including unsociable hours and weekends.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to support residents in developing meaningful activity plans.
  • Be kind and caring with a good sense of humour; able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.

Salary and Hours

Salary: Grade 4, £17,286 – £18,124 per annum (£13.26 – £13.90 per hour). 25 hours per week.
