Come and join us as a Specials Production Operative at our Kingsbury site in Tamworth! You will be hands-on with the day-to-day operations of forklifts and loading and packing brick on our specials stock yard whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety at all times.

About the Role

You’ll be supported by the management team to ensure a smooth, efficient and safe sorting and loading of special shaped bricks for orders to be packed. We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Specials Operative where you will:

  • Operate Fork lift truck
  • Ensure brick packs are placed in the correct designated area on stockyard
  • Sort any substandard bricks as orders are packed and record on appropriate sheet
  • Ensure careful handling of packs to minimise damage, repairing any broken or substandard packaging
  • Load and unload various vehicles
  • Actively take part in any training requested to enhance your role
  • Stock yard and factory cleaning tasks

Kingsbury site

This site produces bricks and pavers, supporting our manufacturing of high-quality building materials across the UK. This position is based at our Kingsbury site, which is near to Fazeley, Polesworth and Tamworth, easily commutable from Lichfield, Nuneaton, Atherstone, Walsall, Coventry and northeast Birmingham.

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, 7.00am to 4.00pm and Friday, 5.30am to 1.00pm

About You

  • Current / valid RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS or CPCS forklift truck license is essential
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Good knowledge of health and safety
  • Able to work to targets
  • Ability to understand work instructions (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Flexible approach to duties as well as willingness to work overtime
  • Experience in specials bricks and yard loading would be advantageous
  • Experience in a factory/manufacturing environment is desirable, but not essential, as full training is provided
