Come and join our Technical Team at our Sale office in Greater Manchester. Part of Wienerberger UK & Ireland, you'll be joining Building Product Design, a leader in the fields of roofing ventilation, construction membranes, building ventilation, and specialised building products.

About the role

As a Technical Officer you will be supporting customers and colleagues with technical advice across our roofing, membrane, ventilation and specialist building product ranges. You will review drawings, provide technical guidance, contribute to specification support activities and help deliver a high standard of customer service while developing your expertise within the construction sector.

Duties also include:

  • Deliver front-line technical support to customers and internal teams
  • Manage and resolve customer queries and complaints
  • Prepare and interpret thermal transmittance calculations in accordance with relevant standards
  • Conduct condensation risk analyses in accordance with relevant standards
  • Perform take-off and quotation services for the cavity tray product range
  • Develop ventilation strategies for residential and commercial properties
  • Handle special enquiries for non-standard product requests
  • Log and monitor customer enquiries, identifying trends and potential issues
  • Provide specification support to internal roofing and construction sales teams
  • Manage and maintain NBS specifications and BIM content for the product range

Your work will help customers make informed decisions and ensure they receive accurate technical support. By contributing to responsive technical and specification services, you will play an important part in maintaining quality standards and supporting successful project outcomes.

There are opportunities to develop your technical knowledge, build your career and collaborate with colleagues across technical, sales and customer-facing teams. This role is based in Sale, Greater Manchester. The office is well placed for travel from Manchester, Stockport, Altrincham and surrounding areas, with convenient road links and access to local public transport connections.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm

About you

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and construction products
  • Basic understanding of construction details and drawings
  • Good numerical skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Team working skills
  • Comfortable adapting to changing priorities
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Teams and Excel
  • Good experience providing technical support to customers or colleagues
  • Degree, qualification or relevant background connected to the construction industry

Desirable

  • Experience within a construction products manufacturing environment
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Revit experience
  • Knowledge of specification support activities
  • Understanding of NBS specifications and BIM content
