As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (known internally as a Maintenance Fitter) at our Broomfleet site, you will be part of our hands-on in-house team who keep the plant running by ensuring the equipment runs smoothly. From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will be hands-on with specialist machinery, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. It's a dynamic role where problem-solving skills and technical expertise are used daily, and you will be a key player contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.
Our engineers have a varied role, so you'll get the chance to use a variety of maintenance skills associated with being a fitter, fabricator, welder, and service engineer. This site produces roof tiles, supporting our manufacturing of high-quality building materials across the UK.

Hours of Work: 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. 2 shifts on days (7am to 7pm), 2 shifts on nights (7pm to 7am), then four off.
You will be a mechanically biased engineer with experience working in manufacturing/factory environments, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline. You'll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on, and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently. You'll have completed a hands-on apprentice training programme.
Experience required:
- Experience in heavy industry manufacturing
- Arc & Mig welding/basic fabrication
- Electrical control systems experience
