Join us as a Maintenance Manager at our Sandtoft site in Doncaster! Wienerberger Ltd manufactures and provides wall, roof and landscaping products for the construction sector. We offer innovative and sustainable solutions across the whole building envelope for new build, renovation projects and across the building industry.
About The Role
As Maintenance Manager, this key leadership role will see you lead and manage our on‑site maintenance team to improve the performance of our machines, health & safety, and as part of the leadership team, act as their subject matter expert for all things technical at the plant. With a focus on strategy, you’ll be developing short, medium, and long‑term plans for the site from a technical perspective to enable us to innovate, to continuously improve and to reduce costs.
You’ll get the chance to build relationships with your team, coach them to improve performance, and share your insight to improve their technical knowledge and allow them to improve their fault‑finding abilities. Working with the Production team, you will develop, train, lead and ensure workmanship standards are met to increase reliability, safety and performance of all manufacturing processes and equipment, effectively on time to budget. This site produces Roof tiles, supporting our manufacturing of high‑quality building materials across the UK. This position is based at Sandtoft site, which is near Belton and easily commutable from Scunthorpe, Thorne, Gainsborough and Doncaster.
Hours of Work: 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
About You
- Possess a relevant engineering (mechanical or electrical) qualification, preferably Degree, HNC/HND or hold a full technical apprenticeship
- Health & Safety focused, IOSH Managing Safety qualified
- Experienced Maintenance Manager / Head of Engineering with a proven track record of delivering Best Practice reliability and maintenance solutions working in a fast‑moving continuous manufacturing environment managing a team of multi‑skilled engineers
- Extensive experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Sound knowledge and experience of computer‑controlled machines, PLC’s (preferably Siemens S7), hydraulics, pneumatics and ideally robotics
- Extensive experience developing best practice stores layout and management
- Strong people management, organisational and project management skills
- Strategic planning, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Evidence of managing change
