About the role
As a Head of Specification you will be leading our Specification Team and shaping a national approach to specification across our business.
You will build strong relationships with architects, consultants, developers and other industry stakeholders while helping create a sustainable pipeline of opportunities and supporting long term growth.
Duties also include
- Lead, manage and develop the Specification Team
- Develop and implement a national specification strategy
- Coordinate specification activity across regions and business units
- Drive early engagement in the construction process
- Increase the breadth and value of specifications across the portfolio
- Build and manage a robust specification pipeline
- Ensure opportunities and project intelligence are captured through CRM
- Develop the company approach to CPDs and technical engagement
- Work closely with Commercial, Technical, Product Management and Marketing teams
- Measure and communicate the commercial impact of specification activity
This role plays an important part in helping us engage earlier in the project lifecycle, support customers with high quality technical solutions and create opportunities that convert into long term business growth.

This is a regional role covering the UK & Ireland territory so regular travel is expected. A company car/allowance is provided.
About you
Essential
- Strong knowledge of the UK construction industry
- Deep understanding of construction materials, methods and regulations
- Leadership and team management experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical and problem solving capability
- Experience using CRM systems and market intelligence
- Good understanding of specification management and pipeline development
Desirable
- Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline (or equivalent knowledge/training)
- Knowledge of BIM and specification software such as NBS Chorus
- Experience leading change and influencing business strategy
- Experience delivering CPDs and technical training programmes
