Production Team Leader (Nights)
Join us as a Production Team Leader at our Todhills site in Bishop Auckland. The role focuses on leading a shift during the night hours to ensure production, quality, and safety targets are met.
About the Role
As a Production Team Leader at our Todhills site, you will be fully trained to work with our specialised tools and machinery used to produce bricks for the construction industry. Our Production Team Leaders manage the department and help the team to achieve their production, quality and safety targets. You will line‑manage a number of Operators, providing technical expertise, supporting personal development and identifying areas for improvement.
Duties
- Plan and manage the team on a daily basis
- Address and report Health and Safety issues
- Ensure Health and Safety standards are achieved and that PPE is used where needed
- Monitor quality in all areas of production
- Monitor process control reports
- Plan to ensure all materials and equipment needed are available to run the shift for production
- Ensure that all paperwork is correctly filled in
- Work closely with the maintenance department
- Work with shift leadership and plant management on all aspects of production
- Assist in the implementation of quality and environmental management
- Act as the first point of contact for your team members’ sickness or absence
Hours of Work
Monday to Thursday, 6:00 pm to 4:30 am (nights)
About You
- Experience working as a Production Operative in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with supervision/line management or transferable skills such as coaching, addressing performance issues, motivating others, managing change, conflict resolution, administration skills, resource planning and organisation
- Demonstrable best practice in relation to health & safety standards
- Adaptable to change
- Confidence and a positive attitude
- Desirable – heavy clay manufacturing industry experience
