Responsibilities
- Manage a number of Operators, providing technical expertise to help the team achieve production, quality and safety targets and support their personal development and areas for improvement.
- Be hands-on with day-to-day operations of the manufacturing site; operate various factory machinery, equipment and forklifts while ensuring high levels of health and safety at all times.
- Receive full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Team Leader.
- Plan and manage the team on a daily basis.
- Address/report Health and Safety issues and ensure PPE is used appropriately.
- Monitor quality in all areas of production and monitor process control reports.
- Plan to ensure all materials and equipment needed are available to run the shift for production.
- Ensure that all paperwork is correctly filled in.
- Work closely with the maintenance department and with shift leadership and plant management on all aspects of production.
- Assist in the implementation of quality and environmental management.
- Act as the first point of contact for your team members' sickness or absence.
Hours
Hours of Work: 6.00pm to 6.00am on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
About You
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with supervision/line management or transferable skills, such as: Coaching, Addressing performance issues, Motivating others, Managing change, Conflict resolution, Administration skills, Resource planning and organisation.
- Flexible and able to adapt to different daily priorities in the factory.
- Commitment to safety and good general safety awareness.
- Adaptable to change; confident with a positive attitude.
- Enjoy working in a busy, hands-on environment; physically capable of duties that are varied and sometimes demanding.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing/industry is desirable.
