About the Role As a Kiln Burner at our Hartlebury site, you will be fully trained to work with our specialised tools and machinery to turn raw materials into products ready for use in the construction industry. You will become an expert on the machinery and support your colleagues to produce high quality results. You will be hands-on with the day to day operations of our manufacturing site; operate various factory machinery, equipment and forklifts whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety at all times. We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Kiln Burner where you will… * Observe Kiln Cars on entry and exit to the kiln * Clean, maintain and adjust individual / groups of burners self-ignition, dampers and other associated equipment to ensure an even burn to produce a consistent fired product * Complete associated paperwork with the kiln and dryers (including the transfer equipment and products, throughputs, push times & any other quality related matters) * Enter actual kiln firing temperature in the kiln logbook before each push * Log kiln car movement entering the information on the mimic board * Start up and shut down the kiln in line with Company procedures * Report and coordinate any faults/repairs to the maintenance team * Read and record gas and electricity meter readings in house * Remove sand from kiln and dryer exits and refill sand seals on both sides of the kiln * Grease kiln and dryer fans and check all dryer cones for rotation Hours of Work: 6.00pm to 6.00am on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern About You * Experience in a factory/manufacturing environment operating machinery is essential * Experience of working with kilns / firing of materials or thermal processes is an advantage but full training will be given * Experience working in a fast-moving heavy manufacturing industry * Comfortable making decisions and prioritising tasks * High attention to detail * Good communication skills – able to coordinate with production, maintenance and health and safety * Experience in the clay industry is desirable * Team player * Proactive with a self-starter attitude About our Benefits * Salary up to £41,634 (inclusive of allowances/bonuses) * Pension scheme * Up to 25 days holiday + bank holidays (pro-rated for shift workers) * Holiday flexibility (sell up to 2 days) + additional volunteering day * Employee assistance and wellbeing programme (including 24/7 online GP, discounts on counselling, mental health support service, get fit programmes) & even more health & wellbeing benefits include dental cover, health cash plan and eye tests * Financial advice/support available (including expert advice from our pension provider, and recommendations on savings & loans options) * Employee discounts available with various retailers, gyms, and wienerberger products * Life assurance (2x annual salary) * Opportunity to join our Share Incentive Plan and our Employee Profit Participation Programme About Wienerberger Ltd Wienerberger Ltd is a provider of wall, roof and landscaping innovations, offering outstanding, sustainable solutions for new build and renovation.
