Widener University is currently seeking a Program Manager for the School of Engineering. Reporting to the Dean, the Program Manager will be responsible for data analysis, budget monitoring, logistical support along with supervisory and office operations. This Program Manager will also direct operational aspects of outreach, recruitment, retention, orientation, senior projects and other activities for the School. In addition, the Program Manager will oversee the School’s administrative support staff and student workers.
The School of Engineering consists of seven departments of biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical and robotics engineering, and construction management, and offers both undergraduate and masters’ programs in a professional environment designed to enhance career development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Administrative:
- Manage and monitor budgets, and provide analysis for purposes of planning.
- Provide monthly budget updates to the Dean
- Supervise logistics for various events including set up, marketing and support.
- Manage and analyze data in support of meeting accreditation standards.
- Write content for the promotion of faculty and student achievements in traditional and digital media.
- Oversee facilities, including laboratories, offices and common area, as well as, manage maintenance and upgrade projects.
Operational/Marketing:
- Plan and develop strategy focused on outreach and recruitment programs and major school events.
- Implement new and evaluate existing techniques for the marketing the School of Engineering to enhance the yield of outreach and recruitment initiatives.
- Communicate with high schools, community colleges and others to promote Widener engineering programs.
- Work as a liaison to the university offices; ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures
- Coordinate and prepare content for email campaigns, website content, blogs, factsheets, flysheets, postcards and social media in conjunction with University Relations.
- Oversee the work of all administrative support staff.
- Organize office operations and procedures.
- Plans and manages School events staffing and support.
- Other duties as assigned
Secondary responsibilities:
- Train administrative support staff on best office practices.
- Updatedigital display monitor usingBrightAuthor; event photography, video, and social media coverage.
- Perform background research as needed for grants and projects.
- Work with others in department and across campus to achieve goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required):
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in program coordination, program marketing, office operations or relevant work experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Experience in the use of packages such as Adobe Photoshop, SPSS, Qualtrics, or equivalent.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including an ability to write for external publications and speeches.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience supporting professional websites and managing professional social media content.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
- Expertise with the manipulation of different forms and modes of graphic images, text, and notations.
- Supervision of support staff or those in non-academic roles.
- Work experience in higher education preferably in program coordination, marketing, technical office support, or other.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL HOURS:
- Usual office, laboratory and classroom conditions
- Some evening and weekend work is required
- Occasionally lift in excess of 20 lbs.
- Must be able to navigate between campus buildings and floors
